PLEBoy's Top 10 Tracks Of 2016! (PART 2)

If you haven't checked it out yet, here is PART 1 of the list.

Are you enjoying the list so far? Well, I hope you are! Feel free to write what you think in the comment box, or leave a message at prettylittleemoboy@gmail.com ! Let's carry on and look back at what great music 2016 brought us...

5. "Insane" Korn

A track from Korn's inevitably headbang-inducing, heavier than ever 12th album The Serenity of Suffering lands on this list with a catchy hook that throws you down a spiral of melodic madness. "Insane" also features one of the most impressive music videos I've seen, of the year.

4. "The One" Babymetal

Japan's strangest gift to the Western world of metal karate kicks to a spot on this list with "The One", their first song to have an alternative version sung entirely in English. A break from their experimental works, the track starts with a cinematic vibe and continues its smooth "We Are The Champions" beat. The young ladies, together with Kami band's sound definitely matured with the simplicity of the song, while keeping inspirational lyrics and their one-of-a-kind Babymetal-brand gimmicks.

3. "Ride On IDOROCK" Babyraids Japan

Oh no! Not an idol group again!
Self-proclaimed founder of a new genre "emotional idorock", this five-piece unit (with at least one member who actually listens to hardcore music from the very beginning) take on headbanging in new uniforms that would remind one of MCRX. "Ride On IDOROCK" is a rocky road mess: heavy metalcore riffs enclosing sweeter than swee-to pote-to vocals that can hurt your overbite. Be-bi-reh!

2. "Scars" I Prevail

One and a half years after unleashing their awesome post-hardcore version of Taylor Swift's "Blank Space" which garnered more than 29 million views on YouTube, Michigan-based band I Prevail finally released their first album Lifelines. The opening track "Scars" is an uplifting catchy anthem not just for outcasts, but everyone who goes through hardships of life.

1. "The Five of Us Are Dying (Rough Mix)" My Chemical Romance

On July 20, 2016 My Chemical Romance teased us with a preview of what was seemingly an impossible reunion...which was actually just an effective advertisement on their new CD and merch. Despite judgments on earning money beyond the grave, everyone's loved band proves that "Welcome to the Black Parade" on its fetal stage is still a genius work worth  sharing.

Here are the runner-ups (a.k.a "some of the songs on YOUR list" or "additional listening")
"Norse Truth" Against Me!
"The Moment" The Agonist
"Phantom Fear" Architects
"The Stage" Avenged Sevenfold
"Afraid of Heights" Billy Talent
"Loser" Beartooth
"Black Honey" Thrice
"Ether" Mogwai
"Gardenia" Iggy Pop
"I'm A Weirdo" Conner4real/Lonely Island
"House of Shame" Lacuna Coil
"Tidal Wave" Taking Back Sunday

What a wicked year we had! I hope you had a rockin' 2016. Let's look at the bright future and I'll be seeing you again in 2017!!
